Nicole Cunningham, Homoeopath and founder of Rebalance the Globe, is enthusing and motivating people to help break the cycle of suffering in developing communities.  In 2007, at age 24, Nicole travelled to India, spending 7 weeks witnessing first hand the effectiveness of Homoeopathy in impoverished communities.  She is the pioneer and inspiration to many as she shows leadership and passion in creating lasting change in India.  Rebalance the Globe is the result of this passion and drive as she leads the crusade towards change and creating equality between the two sides of the globe.

The first 3 weeks in India was spent with 9 other Australian Homoeopaths attending an Intensive Training Program at the M.L.Dhawale Memorial Homoeopathic Hospital in Palghar, 3 hours north of Mumbai.  Here, Nicole saw a bus which was converted to a mobile consulting room and dispensary, which visited many local villages providing treatment to people who otherwise had no access to any form of health care.  She was inspired to see the dedication with which local practitioners had built up a healthcare system in the area.

Nicole also travelled to Mayapur, a remote rural area four hours north of Calcutta, in the province of West Bengal.  Here she spent 4weeks, travelling daily on the back of a motor bike, with an Indian Homoeopath and a translator, treating many ill people in the rural villages.  After witnessing the poor health of the villagers she sought to create and implement a lasting healthcare system for Mayapur and the 53 surrounding villages.  She worked hand in hand with an Indian non-profit organisation Sri Mayapur Vikas Sangha (SMVS), who have been supporting and developing the villages of Mayapur in the areas of Education, Micro Credit, and Arsenic Remediation.  After 2 years of providing health clinics to 11 villages, Rebalance the Globe’s first Mobile Healthcare Bus is the realization of Nicole’s dream for Mayapur.

At the tender age of 10 she moved from Australia to South Africa with her family.  It was here that she began to be exposed to the reality of the third world and her experience of cultures and customs of different countries.  This continued as her family continued to move and travel around the world.  At the age of 15 she developed her compassion for the impoverished as she explored Romania and Hungary as part of a mission project.  With her exposure of living and travelling in countries around the globe she brings a lot of experience to her project and is dedicated to creating change and equality to communities.

Through supporting and adopting their values and customs she has integrated with the local people of Mayapur and discovered the needs of each community.

She requires assistance now as she works to create lasting change through her projects.  Her passion and dedication to reducing the cycle of illness and suffering through creating sustainable healthcare projects in developing communities is her attempt to rebalance the resources from the western world to the eastern world.  Through the generosity of people in western countries, the people in eastern countries can be empowered with the gift of choice that will improve and develop the communities and families of each village for generations to come.
Nicole’s core belief is that western resources need to be introduced into developing communities through well researched projects that are sustainable and complimentary to the people, culture and customs of each community.  Her mission is to educate and encourage people in western countries to become passionate about creating hope and change for sick people in eastern countries.
